You're an inspiration lol how do you decide where to add shadows? I really like the shading with these :]

Practice and thinking. Try to use some real life examples to understand how does the shadow act. In this scenario there is a neutral light and since his scales are shiny only the edges of his body are grey. It's kinda tricky to explain, because I aim towards a "cel" shading technique, but with enough time you will surely understand where to locate light and shadow. With Rock's action shot, the light comes from the right, perhaps I ask to myself where to place the light to make him a bit 3D. I a nutshell, it's all about experience. Who knows, maybe one day you will even be better than me!

Even as someone who doesn't know all the characters, I really like the way they're portrayed! Personal favorite looking here has to be Meat Boy.
